Removal of Benign Pigmented Lesions
The removal of benign pigmented lesions (age spots, liver spots, cafe au lait, Ota's & Ito's nevus, melasma/chloasma) is possible using a variety of light sources - both lasers and IPLs. As you can see from my publication I have been doing this since the early 1990s.
Treatments
Proper treatment of benign pigmented lesions is a little tricky. First you need to be sure that the lesion is 'benign'. Once you are satisfied then you need to choose the best parameters to treat the lesion. This depends on the type, colour and depth of lesion.

This course will go through the physiology and types of pigmented lesions, the best way to approach treatments (including the 'best' light source to use - laser or IPL) and the results you can expect.

Chloasma This patient exhibited chloasma on both sides of her face. After a number of sessions with the DermaLase DLR1 laser much of the lesion had cleared. |
